About Pokemon Overlord
Game Overview
This is a fast-paced roguelike strategy game inspired by Unicorn Overlord, blending tactical team positioning with short, intense battles that last around one minute each. Every decision matters—from formation choices to ability selection—creating a highly replayable experience built around smart planning rather than grinding.
Core Battle System
Each team consists of up to 3 Pokémon, placed strategically across two rows:
- Front Row: Takes the majority of enemy attacks
- Back Row: Protected as long as a front-row Pokémon remains, but acts 30% slower
Before each battle, you configure your squad:
- Every Pokémon has 2 attack slots and 1 ability slot
- You must choose which attacks and abilities to bring based on upcoming opponents
- Battles resolve quickly, rewarding preparation and synergy over reaction time
Pokémon Design Philosophy
Every Pokémon is designed to be useful and viable—no filler, no strictly worse options.
To achieve this, Pokémon are categorized by rarity:
- Example: Entei (Super Rare) vs Flareon (Uncommon)
- Higher-rarity Pokémon start stronger, but stat-boosting items scale better on lower-rarity Pokémon
This means:
- You can heavily invest in a favorite low-rarity Pokémon
- With the right items, an uncommon Pokémon can rival or surpass a super-rare one
- Team-building favors creativity, attachment, and long-term strategy
Setting & Story
The game takes place in a familiar hotel setting, where a Pokémon card game tournament is underway. You’ve been summoned to participate—but as the tournament unfolds, it becomes clear that something else may be happening beneath the surface…
You’ll encounter many recognizable characters from the series, each with:
